Gary to receive $758,000 firefighters grant from FEMA

GARY, Ind. (AP) - The Gary Fire Department will receive $758,000 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

The funding will be used to support professional training, wellness and fitness programs equipment, personal protective equipment, modifications to facilities, and supplies that support firefighting and non-affiliated emergency medical services operations and safety.

Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson said the city was honored to receive the support from the federal government.
