Southwest Indiana man faces June double murder trial

SULLIVAN, Ind. (AP) - A southwestern Indiana man faces a June double murder trial in the strangulation death of his pregnant stepsister.

Johnus Luke Orr's trial is set for June 27 in Sullivan Superior Court, starting with juror selection. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 65 years in prison for each of the two murder counts he faces.

The Tribune-Star reports (http://bit.ly/1X91OXa ) Orr's attorney wants jurors sequestered to limit their exposure to media accounts of the trial.

Orr allegedly killed 20-year-old Tiffanie Adams and her viable fetus in November 2014. Her body was found in a farm field north of Sullivan the following month.

Adams was last seen in Sullivan leaving her father's house on foot and heading to her mother's nearby home. She was nearly eight months pregnant when she died.
