Deaths of father, son found in Illinois were murder, suicide

ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) - Officials in northern Illinois say the deaths of a father and his young son whose bodies were found in a vehicle were a murder and suicide.

The Winnebago County coroner on Tuesday identified the victims as 37-year-old Glen Fleener of Rockford and 8-year-old Kier Fleener of Chicago. Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Hintz called the deaths "non-traumatic" and said the father and son weren't shot, stabbed or beaten. Autopsies are scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

Hintz said the boy lived with his mother in Chicago. He says the bodies could have been in the four-door sedan since as early as 7 p.m. on Sunday. They were found Monday morning parked in the vehicle in rural Winnebago County.
