Medical center looking at Hanover Park for flagship location

Suburban Medical and Wellness is hoping to bring their flagship comprehensive health center to a vacant Hanover Park building on Army Trail Road, according to village officials.

The building that once housed the Spring Garden Restaurant at 1900 Army Trail Road has been vacant since 2013. The health company wants to put an 850-square-foot addition onto the existing 5,270-square-foot building and add 1,420 square feet of green space.

Once completed, the health center would offer dental services, physical therapy, a small medical lab and general medical care, according to village documents.

The Hanover Park village board will vote on approving the building for medical use Thursday. If the board approves, Suburban Medical and Wellness can begin applying for building permits, Community and Economic Development Director Shubhra Govind said.

The medical company is “eager to begin remodeling and expanding,” Govind said in an email.

Suburban Medical and Wellness currently has one other location in Schaumburg at 800 E. Woodfield Road.

Village staff says plans for the building are in keeping with the intent of the larger Sandpiper Court shopping center,

The new health center will have 36 parking spaces.

Hanover Park Public Works, engineering, police and fire department staff have reviewed plans for the health center and find the plans to be acceptable, according to village documents.
