Cubs' Hammel leaves game early with cramping

CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago Cubs pitcher Jason Hammel left Monday's game after his right hamstring cramped while he warmed up for the third inning against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Hammel had pitched two innings in the scoreless game, giving up one hit and one walk while striking out three. He entered the game 6-1 and ranked fifth in the majors with a 2.17 ERA. He had allowed two or fewer runs in seven of his nine starts.

Travis Wood replaced Hammel for the Cubs.
