Cupich ordains five Hispanic deacons, one in Mount Prospect
Five new Hispanic deacons were ordained Sunday by Archbishop Blase Cupich, including one who will serve at St, Cecilia Parish in Mount Prospect. The ordinations were held at St. Philomena Parish, 1921 N. Kedvale Ave. in Chicago.
Deacon Valdemar Silva will serve at St. Cecilia Parish, 700 S. Meier Road, Mount Prospect.
The others are: Cornelio Trecruceño, St. Philomena Parish; Benito Gallegos, Our Lady of the Mount Parish, Cicero; Leonel Segura, St. Genevieve, Chicago and Juan Valadez, Queen of the Universe Parish, Chicago.
