Bjorn, Harrington, Lawrie picked as Ryder Cup vice captains

VIRGINIA WATER, England (AP) - European captain Darren Clarke has selected Thomas Bjorn, Padraig Harrington and Paul Lawrie as three of his vice captains for the Ryder Cup at Hazeltine.
Bjorn (2010, '12) and Harrington (2014) have performed the role before. It will be the first time as vice captain for Lawrie, who played for the European team in 1999 and 2012.
Clarke says "I could not have asked for anybody better to be standing shoulder to shoulder with me in the bid to bring the Ryder Cup home."
Clarke is set to pick his remaining two vice captains around the time of the British Open in July.
The Ryder Cup takes place from Sept. 30-Oct. 2. The European team is seeking a fourth straight win.
