Police recover some art stolen from Michigan festival

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Police say they've recovered more than half of the pieces of art that were stolen from last weekend's East Lansing Art Festival in Michigan.

A statement Friday from East Lansing police says they now have six of the 11 pieces that were taken after the festival closed for the night last Saturday.

An investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with the remaining missing artworks to either turn them in to police or let officers know where to find them. Police didn't detail which works were recovered.

Chicago-area artist Bala Thiagarajan earlier told the Lansing State Journal that six of her paintings were taken from her booth late Saturday or early Sunday. East Lansing police said two other artists reported that works were stolen from their booths as well.
