Electronics drop off for Libertyville residents

The village of Libertyville will allow its residents to drop off electronics for recycling from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturdays beginning June 4. The satellite collection site at the village's public works facility, 600 North Ave., will run until the end of November and will initially be limited to residents. Once a set volume of material is collected, it will be transported to the larger, permanent electronics recycling facility in Grayslake. The village is working with Libertyville Township, Green Oaks and Mettawa on possible contributions that would allow for an additional half-day of operation per week that would be available to residents in the 60048 ZIP code. The village estimates its labor cost at $1,600 per month.
