Young soccer players converge on Northwest suburbs

Nearly 600 youth soccer teams are converging on the Northwest suburbs this weekend for the massive Grove United tournament, which opened Friday night despite a little rain.

The Memorial Day Shootout is being played at Olympic Park, 1675 E. Old Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg; Connelly Park 64 N. Azalea Drive, Schaumburg; and Palatine High School 1111 N. Rohlwing Road, Palatine. Games will be played all weekend with the championships on Sunday.
