Arlington Park starts second racing club

After the inaugural Arlington Racing Club sold out quickly, officials at Arlington Park are starting a second group to allow more people to get involved in horse racing and ownership at a lower price.

The Arlington Racing Club is a new initiative from the racetrack this year where 70 people pay $500 each to share ownership of a horse. They can watch the horse train and bring guests to the track when it races. The first horse bought under this program, Miss Swift Kitty, will race at Arlington Park in the next few weeks, said Howard Sudberry, Arlington's marketing and communications director.

"Due to many requests, we are starting Arlington Racing Club 2," Sudberry said.

The program costs will be the same and Sudberry said he expects this group to sell out again. A second horse will be purchased soon and start racing at Arlington this summer. Anyone who interested can email racingclub@arlingtonpark.com or call (847) 385-7708.
