Fast facts: Roush Fenway Racing announced Wednesday that had signed a multi-year partnership extension with the Fastenal Company as the anchor partner driver of Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and the No. 17 team. ... Dale Earnhardt Jr. has 12 top-10 finishes in Charlotte but has never won a points-paying race at his home track.

Last race: Simon Pagenaud won for the third race in a row on Indianapolis's road course on May 14.

Fast facts: Canadian James Hinchcliffe will start from the pole for the 100th Indy 500, a year after nearly dying in a crash during practice. ... Six drivers in the field have won the Indy 500, including Helio Castroneves (2001, 2002, 2009), Montoya, Tony Kanaan (2013) and Ryan Hunter-Reay (2014). ...The race was declared a sellout and will be broadcast on television live in central Indiana for the first time since the early 1950s.

Last race: Eighteen-year-old Max Verstappen of the Netherlands became the youngest winner in F1 history two weeks ago in Spain.

Fast facts: Rosberg still holds a massive lead in the standings despite crashing out early in Spain along with Hamilton. Kimi Raikkonen is now ahead of Hamilton for second, 39 points behind Rosberg. ... McLaren has only failed to qualify a car for Monaco once, in 1983. ... Olivier Panis holds the record for winning from the lowest grid spot at Monaco. He started 14th in 1996.
