Baseball: Naperville Central defeats Romeoville

With the score tied 3-3 in the bottom of the sixth inning in the Class 4A Bolingbrook regional semifinals, Conor Joyce singled home Beau Buchanan with the go-ahead run for the Redhawks (24-10). They'll play the winner of Thursday's game between Neuqua Valley and Bolingbrook at 10 a.m. Saturday. Liam Heath improved to 7-0 on the mound, striking out 12 in 6-plus innings. With the tying and go-ahead runs on base in the top of the seventh, Tyler Brinker came in to get the final two outs and earn the save. Naperville Central scored twice with the bases loaded in the bottom of the second when Connor Gurnik was hit by a pitch and Buchanan walked. Jon Barker singled home a run in the third.
