Glen Ellyn Historical Society Volunteers Gather Together to Place Flags on Graves of Civil War Soldiers

Tuesday, May 24 at 10:00 AM, several Glen Ellyn Historical Society members and several long time residents of Glen Ellyn met at Forest Hill Cemetery located at Riford Road and St. Charles Road. Society President, Suzanne Carty had dozens of American Flags all ready to hand out to her volunteers. There are at least sixty-five Civil War soldiers buried in the cemetery and each one was honored by an American Flag. The flags are in place for two weeks as the Village of Glen Ellyn honors the Memorial Day Holiday. For information about the GEHS call 630-469-1867 or check the website at www.glenellynhistory.org.
