Waukegan Public Library's summer concert series lineup

Waukegan Public Library has announced the lineup for its annual summer concert series, with performances from noon to 1 p.m. every Friday in June, July, and August in the library's front courtyard.

In the event of rain, concerts move indoors to the Bradbury Room on the lower level.

This year's concert lineup represents a variety of musical styles and genres. Some old favorites return, along with several groups coming to Waukegan for the first time.

• June 3, 2016: Ian Gould (Celtic folk)

• June 10, 2016: Sipos & Young (acoustic)

• June 17: Potts & Pans (steelpan drums)

• June 24: Patchouli (folk)

• July 1: Donna Herula & Tony Nardiello (blues)

• July 8: Beki Hemingway (acoustic)

• July 15: Back Porch Moon (folk)

• July 22: West End Jazz Band (jazz)

• July 29: Hungrytown (folk)

• Aug. 5: Piper Road Spring Band (bluegrass)

• Aug. 12: Low-Reen and the Maxwell Street Market Blues Band (blues)

• Aug. 19: Kraig Kenning (acoustic)

• Aug. 26: The Dixieland Jazz Cats (swing)

Dockside Dogs will return to grill hot lunches for concertgoers, with menu and pricing to come on the library's website at www.waukeganpl.org.

Sweet treats and drinks will be available for purchase from the Friends of the Library, which offers cookies, brownies, and more at each concert.

The library's summer concert series is sponsored by the Friends of the Waukegan Public Library. The Friends of the Library raise funds throughout the year through their book sale, available every day the library is open along the south wall.
