Schaumburg pantry benefits from carriers' drive

The Annual Letter Carriers "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive in May was once again a giant success. Schaumburg Township Food Pantry received more than 7,500 pounds of groceries.

We would like to send out a huge thank you to our generous community. The pantry serves between 600-700 households every month and depends on community support. Contributions will help fill our pantry shelves for weeks to come.

We are grateful to the Schaumburg Postal Service Carriers who helped to make this food drive possible. We also appreciate the community volunteers who helped out, in addition to volunteers from Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association of Schaumburg who helped sort and box all the donations as well as a big thank you to Riccardo's Restaurant in Schaumburg for feeding the volunteers during our food drive.

We appreciate all the community support for we could not help so many without it.

Call General Assistance (847) 884-0030 for additional information or assistance. Office hours are 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
