Naperville Woman's Club to hold 57th Fine Art Fair

The Naperville Woman's Club will play host to more than 100 local and national artists for its 57th annual juried Fine Art Fair.

The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 9 and 10, at Naper Settlement, 523 S. Webster, Naperville.

Artist demonstrations, entertainment, a silent auction, children's tent and "Empty Bowls" fundraiser are all part of this family event, which has the distinction of being Illinois' longest running art fair. Parking and admission are free.

Artworks in a variety of media including ceramic, glass, paint, jewelry, photography, wood, fiber, sculpture, batik, and mixed media will be offered for sale. Prizes will be awarded to artists for Best of Show, the Naperville Woman's Club Award, Award of Excellence and Award of Merit.

The Petite Picasso Tent is a family fun event where youngsters may try their hand at painting and clay.

The Silent Auction, with items donated from participating artists, will be located in the air-conditioned Meeting House at the south end of the settlement.

Also part of the event is the "Empty Bowls" fundraiser. Ceramic bowls are created and sold by members of ClaySpace Ceramic Art Center in Lisle. Proceeds from both the "Empty Bowls" and the Silent Auction are donated to local charities.

The art fair will feature entertainment throughout the weekend. The flamenco guitar duo "Patchouli" will perform at noon both Saturday and Sunday at the gazebo, located near the north gate at Naper Settlement.
