Woodland names new principal

The Woodland Elementary District 50 school board this week named Victorene "Vicki" King principal at Woodland Elementary West in Gurnee. King, has 14 years of educational experience and has served the past two years as principal at Neal Math and Science Academy in North Chicago. She replaces David Brown, who resigned this school year. King has taught in Palatine and Barrington schools and was an associate principal in Highland Park. She has made presentations involving Northwest Evaluation Association on the Measures of Academic Progress student assessment, No Child Left Behind on Family and Community Engagement and the Association for Middle Level Education on Using Data to Improve Family and Community Engagement.
