The Reserve at Barrington

A new gated community sits near downtown Barrington, a charming spot that offers unique dining and shopping experiences and is near the Metra train station.

David Weekley Homes will host the grand opening on Tuesday, May 24, at The Reserve at Barrington, a community of 43 luxury residences in a gated setting with walking trails and preserved natural areas.

The community offers a collection of low-maintenance home designs with three to four bedrooms, 2½ to 3½ baths, full basement and attached two- or three-car garage.

Although the model shows a first-floor owner's suite, most homes in the community will feature an upper-level suite that appeals to families with children, said Rich Bridges, Chicago division sales manager for David Weekley Homes.

Buyers who visit the model will find a spacious kitchen open to the family room, a first-floor study and upstairs flex space. The home speaks to the needs of today's buyers, providing them with the flexible living areas they can customize around their family's needs, Bridges said.

The featured model, Moonsgate, is priced from $632,990. This design features 2,853 square feet with a second-floor master suite and 1,616 square feet with a first-floor master, three bedrooms and 2½ baths.

The model is shown with several upgrades and options.

With a light and airy interior, the home showcases a blue and gray color scheme with lots of windows and natural light, high ceilings and tall baseboards. Wide-plank engineered hardwood flooring flows throughout the main level.

The charming front porch brings you into the foyer, which leads into the open study where walls are dressed with beadboard. This room is furnished with a desk and bookshelves. This flexible space could serve as a formal dining room or accommodate a grand piano.

The gourmet kitchen shines with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and subway tile backsplash, while the island features a sink and breakfast bar. In the dining area, an industrial table set for six is surrounded with six upholstered chairs.

The centerpiece of the family room is the linear gas fireplace with floor-to-ceiling wall tile that has a contemporary vibe. A soft teal sofa and two comfortable chairs furnish this space.

The main level owner's suite has huge windows and a tray ceiling with coffer and crown molding. Neutral blues, greens and tans create a soft, restful ambience while silver accents add sparkle. California Closets provides organization for the large master closet.

The private luxury bath features two European-height sinks, cappuccino cabinets with granite countertops and a super shower with floor-to-ceiling tile, granite inlays and sprays that will give owners a soothing spa experience.

The extended loft is outfitted as a game room with a pool table and bistro tables and a media room done in blue, teal and gray with a sofa, flat-screen TV and two chairs. This spacious flex space offers many possibilities, and buyers can add a fourth bedroom in lieu of the media room.

Two secondary bedrooms each include a walk-in closet and share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom. One room is outfitted as a guest bedroom and the other a kid's room with an animal theme and fun, bright colors.

Three other designs offered at the community include the Keene, priced from $595,999 with 2,458 square feet; the Maryville, priced from $585,990 with 2,639 square feet; and Kirksville, priced from $605,999 with 2,903 square feet.

The model at 1410 Somerset Place is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
