Cops on rooftops Friday for Special Olympics

For the 14th year, hundreds of Illinois law enforcement officers will stake out Dunkin' Donuts rooftops Friday morning to benefit Special Olympics Illinois. Starting at 5 a.m., officers will climb onto 225 Dunkin' Donuts rooftops to take donations for the Torch Run, law enforcement's special fundraising arm for Special Olympics. Officers hope to top last year's $540,000 total. Donors will get a free doughnut coupon; those who donate at least $10 will get a Law Enforcement Torch Run travel mug (while supplies last) and a coffee coupon. Torch Run T-shirts and hats will be sold. For a list of participating locations, see www.facebook.com/DunkinChicago or www.facebook.com/SpecialOlympicsIllinois.
