ABOUT JENS JENSEN

As one of the most influential landscape architects in America, Jens Jensen strived to restore the prairies of Illinois while preserving their natural beauty. He used a diverse methodology that worked to combine natural elements with stonework aesthetics and community history, hoping to bring people an organic escape from the busy city. The circles he often used in his designs symbolize the unity of humanity and nature, so with that in mind, the event intends to fuse the park's historic landscaping with different varieties of cultural performance arts for the whole family to enjoy.

In the spirit of Jens Jensen, "Everyone is entitled to a home where the sun, the stars, open fields, giant trees, and smiling flowers are free to teach an undisturbed lesson of life."
