Adaptive sports group honored

The President's Council on Fitness, Sports, & Nutrition has selected Lake Forest-based Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association (GLASA) to receive a 2016 President's Council on Fitness, Sports, & Nutrition Community Leadership Award. The award is given annually to individuals or organizations that improve the lives of others within their community by providing or enhancing opportunities to engage in sports, physical activities, fitness, and nutrition-related programs. GLASA, a Gold Level Paralympic Sports Club, provides recreational and competitive sports programming to youth, teens, and adults including injured military who have a physical or visual disability. GLASA serves the Midwest with clinics and competitions bringing in individuals from throughout the country. For information, visit http://www.glasa.org/.
