A lot can be done with just a little

"But a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny."

- Mark 12:42 (NIV)

When the kids were growing up, I encountered a frustration with pennies. It seemed like everywhere I looked I would run across a penny.

"Not another one," I thought as I swept the kitchen floor.

Wash day brought with it more pennies. I lifted the clothes from the washer and watched as two pennies lay at the bottom of the drum. And then some would be in the dryer. "How did I miss those pennies after the washing?"

Pennies appeared to be multiplying everywhere. It was as if they were following me around. I found them in the bathroom, under couch cushions, on table tops, behind doors and in the driveway. I had a wallet full of them. They were even on the floor of my car. However, I had not viewed them as, "Pennies from heaven."

Then, one day, God showed me I needed an attitude change regarding this small change. Instead of viewing them as annoying, I started collecting them in a jar. I was learning to go from pennies to prosperity. I rejoiced when the day came that my jar was full and I cashed my copper coins in for $60.

In the Bible, a widow dropped two small coins in the offering. These coins were smaller in value than a penny. The point was she placed them in God's hands with the right attitude and this pleased him.

God views the small things in life different than we do. He can do a lot with a little if we keep our attitudes right and turn things over to him.

Believe it or not, that's what I did and now I find dimes everywhere.
