Softball: Busscher's big day keys Mundelein

Karlee Busscher went 5-for-5 as part of a 22-hit attack for visiting Mundelein in a 15-4 victory over Lake Forest in the North Suburban Lake softball Monday.

Jordyn West was 4-for-5 with a triple, and Molly Pedroza hit an inside-the-park homer for Mundelein (9-20, 2-9), which wraps up division play at Zion-Benton on Tuesday. Amanda Diaz and Allison Lambert were both 3-for-5. Victoria Avis (double), Heather Avis and Peyton Pribyl (triple) each contributed a pair of hits in the win.

Breanna Adams pitched 5 innings for the victory.

Grayslake Central 5, Grayslake North 2: Wining pitcher Reagen Radke is now 16-9 on the season. She rolled up 8 strikeouts over seven innings.

For Grayslake North, Becca Sosa had a home run.

Wauconda 3, Grant 1: Taylor McCarthy had 2 hits, including a double, to lead Wauconda.

Erin Bengston had a triple for Grant.

Libertyville 17, Lake Zurich 2: Libertyville pounded out 15 hits and Lake Zurich was plagued by 7 errors.

Jessie Lauret had 3 hits and drove in 2 runs for the Wildcats.

Kenzie Bother and Hannah Heraty also had 3 hits.

The winning pitcher was Heraty. She had 5 strikeouts over five innings.

For Lake Zurich, Amanda Guercio had 2 hits.

Lakes 10, Antioch 1: Ally Perdue went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles to lead Lakes, which had a total of 13 hits.

Jen Reed had 3 hits and Rachel Becker and Karlie Rotunno added 2 hits apiece.

Perdue was also the winning pitcher. She didn't allow a walk over seven innings.
