Lake County Chiefs Association hosts its annual fire expo at Gurnee Mills

Trench rescue, K-9 demonstrations, auto extrication and a sprinkler systems exhibit were just some of the highlights of Saturday's 15th annual Lake County Fire Safety Expo.

The Lake County Fire Chiefs Association held the free community event in the Gurnee Mills parking lot.

Families had a chance to learn about the latest fire prevention tips and to participate in various interactive activities. Games, refreshments and prize giveaways were also part of the event.

Local residents and children also had the opportunity to engage with firefighters and other public service personnel, slide down a kids fire pole and compete in a kids combat challenge.
