Elgin Chamber Brass to perform a world class program May 23

On Monday, May 23, Chamber Music on the Fox will present Elgin Chamber Brass in their debut concert at Judson University's Thulin Hall.

Performing works by Ennio Morricone, Victor Ewald, Michael Tilson Thomas, and others, the ensemble, made up of the top brass players in the Chicago area, will showcase masterpieces of the brass quintet repertoire in a program entitled "Journey Through Brass."

"My colleagues in Elgin Chamber Brass are among the top artists in the area, frequently performing with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera Orchestra, and in principal positions with the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, Lake Forest Symphony, and other area ensembles," said Mark Fry, bass trombonist of Elgin Chamber Brass and co-artistic director of Chamber Music on the Fox. "Bringing these fantastic players together will create a rare opportunity for Fox Valley audiences to hear a truly world-class brass quintet concert without having to drive into Chicago."

The performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. at Thulin Hall in Judson University's Thompson Fine Arts Center, 1151 N. State St. in Elgin.

General admission is $20, student tickets are available for $10, and Chamber Music on the Fox is also offering a pay-what-you-can option for artists.
