Girls soccer: Win No. 100 for St. Charles East's Jennison

It was a milestone night for St. Charles East girls soccer coach Paul Jennison, who picked up his 100th win in his seventh season coaching the Saints during a 7-0 victory over Elgin in Upstate Eight River action. Jennison was more selfless than anything on the honor.

"Honestly, it's 100 percent due to the kids, I've been incredibly fortunate for the position I've been on the boys and the girls side," said Jennison, who gave thanks to his assistants as well. "It's a massive thank you to anyone that's played at any level but obviously any of the girls that played on the team over the last 7 years. We couldn't have done it without any of them so thank you to everyone that's played."

Kyla Augustine and Julia Peterson made it all happen with 2 goals each, while Shannon Gatehouse, Chantel Carranza and Megan O'Neal added scores. Morgan Kull added 1 assist for East (16-3, 4-1).

St. Charles North 5, Jacobs 0: The North Stars (16-3-1, 6-0) rounded out the regular season with a sound victory over the Golden Eagles in nonconference action. Amanda Czerniak totaled 1 goal and 1 assist while Hailey Rydberg, KB Kusswurm, Jordan Karom and Lauren Muzzalupo scored 1 goal each. Elli Wahlberg added 1 assist. Keepers Sami Sample and Leanne Stahulak (2 saves) each played 1 half for a combined shutout.

Bartlett 10, East Aurora 0: The Hawks (16-5-1) ended their regular season in style with a drumming of the Tomcats (3-14-1, 0-4-1) to end UEC Valley play at 4-1, good for second place behind Glenbard East. Kaitlin Brohan led the way with 2 goals and 1 assist while Shelley Lyjak and Shaelen Kaiser each sported 2 goals. Sarah Jurek and Carrigan Sablik dished 1 goal and 1 assist. Jenna Dombrowski added a goal and Jenna Noesen totaled 2 assists. Mariah Martinez, Mariela Alba, Tabitha Evans, Natalie McGinnis all had 1 assist and keeper Teagan Noesen garnered 2 saves for the shutout. East goalie Daisy Quinonez compiled 16 saves.

Larkin 3, Streamwood 2: In a preview of next Tuesday's Class 3A Streamwood regional semifinal, both Stephanie Nunez and Sam Moreno had 1 goal and 1 assist as the Royals (9-11, 1-5) got the win in UEC River play over the Sabres. Elizabeth Baeza tallied 1 goal and Tonya Franco 1 assist. Maddie Young nailed down 7 saves in net. Streamwood (6-13, 0-6) saw Alondra Blanco and Karina Nevarez score goals while Shonali Pierce and Paulette Carranza spotted assists.

West Chicago 3, South Elgin 2 (Wednesday's late result): Ari Walters and Corinne Hildebrandt notched goals for the Storm (9-9-2, 2-3) who dropped an UEC Valley match to the Wildcats. Gabby Danesi supplied the only assist while goalie Jackie DeLaMora made 7 saves. `
