College of DuPage Radiography Students 2016 Scholar Bowl State Champs
Four students from the College of DuPage Diagnostic Medical Imaging Radiography program took first place at the 2016 Radiography Scholar Bowl state championship.
COD was one of 11 teams in the competition which tested in various categories, including: Radiation Protection and Biology; Equipment Operation& Quality Control; Image Production & Evaluation; Radiographic Procedures; and Patient Care & Education. Team members included (from left) Ivan Vega, Cally Wagner, Emily Swab and David Muñoz.
"Our students represented the strengths of the DMIR program, showcasing the knowledge and skills they've acquired during their time at College of DuPage," said Radiography Program Coordinator Shellaine Thacker.
The College's Radiography program educates students with didactic, laboratory and clinical experience as part of their studies. Program policies and procedures are designed to meet or exceed those established by the Joint Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Graduates demonstrate competency to meet state licensure, and/or certification requirements defined by law for whole-body radiography, deliver compassionate patient care and function as an integral member of a health care team with competence and confidence.
