Dundee Lions, local PTC team up for Gourmet Pancake Breakfast Sunday

The Dundee Lions and the Dundee Highlands Elementary PTC invite the community to a "Gourmet Pancake Fundraiser Breakfast" from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday, May 15, at the school, 407 S. Fifth St. in West Dundee.

Breakfast includes pancakes with chocolate chips, blueberries and other varieties, served with sausage patties and fruit. Beverages will include juice and coffee. As you can see from the photo, both organizations are working hard on that perfect pancake for you.

There will be a 50/50 raffle, face painting, entertainment from a magician and a putting contest. Winning the putting contest offers a free round of golf at Randal Oaks Golf Course with a cart for four.

Profits from the breakfast will go to the Lions charity to help in the fight against diabetes and to the Dundee Highlands PTC to help support many of their school programs. Tickets are $7, $6 for seniors, $5 for children, age 3-12; children under 3 are free. All Cub Scouts in a Class A uniform also eat free.

An important service offered at the breakfast will be a free diabetic retinopathy screening. The Illinois Lions Foundation is providing this service. People over age 50 and especially those with a family history of type I or type II diabetes are encouraged to take part. Lions are always seeking ways to prevent blindness. "Early detection is the key."

The Dundee Lions meet regularly at the Village Squire in West Dundee. Find more about Dundee Township Lions Club on Facebook.
