Decatur woman killed in crash with Illinois state trooper

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) - Illinois State Police have identified a woman killed in a vehicle crash with a state trooper who was helping to search for a man accused of shooting a Mahomet officer.

The (Decatur) Herald and Review reports (http://bit.ly/1WjsXWk ) that state police say 26-year-old Kelley E. Wilson of Decatur died in the Saturday night crash. They say the trooper's vehicle and Wilson's vehicle collided, causing massive damage and injuring both. The newspaper reports that Wilson was pronounced dead early Sunday at Decatur Memorial Hospital. The trooper's condition and identity weren't immediately released.

The trooper was helping in the search for 34-year-old Dracy "Clint" Pendleton of Bellflower. The search for him continued Monday.

Authorities accuse Pendleton of shooting the officer in the arm. They say Pendleton fled in a truck and had a rifle.
