U-46 honors top two percent of graduating seniors May 9

Elgin Area School District U-46 Chief Executive Officer Tony Sanders and the board of education will host the Top Two Percent ceremony for graduating seniors, honoring their success and accomplishments in academics, Monday, May 9. The students are the top-achieving individuals from the five comprehensive high schools.

"These students put in a great deal of work and time toward their education," said CEO Sanders. "We are looking forward to recognizing their achievements here in U-46 and wishing them well as they continue to excel in college and careers."

The top two percent of seniors from the five comprehensive high schools will be recognized for their efforts at Elgin High School, 1200 Maroon Drive in Elgin. The reception will begin at 5:30 p.m., with the program at 6 p.m.

The top two percent of graduating seniors are as follows:

• Bartlett High School: Brittany Amawan, Kyle Calvert, Karly Cazzato, Austin Hilvert, Justin Isla, Lucas Isla, Hannah Kolano, Kyle Kucharski, Jennifer Kummerer, Nicole MacLennan, Lindsey Petritis, Marissa Rubino, Julia Santos

• Elgin High School: Taha Ahmad, Courtney Ban, Rose Dimitroyannis, Sophia Grace Glinoga, Rebecca Gorski, Shruti Idnani, Laine Kaehler, Megan Placko, Heba Qazi, Isra Rahman, and Anthony Ruiz

• Larkin High School: Rafael Almanza, Alfredo Gallegos, Allison Holloway, Benjamin Long, Kyle Metz, Branstarr Sihanath, Natalie Somphonhphakdy, Elijah Stein, Gabriella Stocksdale, and Angela Tabak
