Trinity's David Hoag selected as new president of Warner University

Senior Vice President for University Advancement David Hoag has been chosen as the new president of Warner University, a liberal arts college in Lake Wales, Fla.

Hoag has served Trinity for seven years. During this time he has been successful in guiding Trinity to enhanced relationships with foundations. Under his leadership within the past year, Trinity's Office of Advancement submitted successful proposals to the Lilly Foundation, the Kern Family Foundation and the Templeton Religious Trust.

Originally from Ohio, Hoag worked at Greenville College in Illinois prior to his arrival at Trinity. He holds a Ph.D. in higher education administration from St. Louis University.

"It is a privilege for me, in conjunction with the entire Trinity community, to offer our heartiest congratulations to David Hoag on his election as the new president of Warner University," Trinity President David S. Dockery said. "David Hoag will bring many good gifts along with years of experience at a variety of institutions in the world of higher education administration to bear upon his new calling at Warner at this particular time.

"We congratulate the Warner University family on their selection of David Hoag and we wish the best for Dr. Hoag, his family, and the Warner community in the days to come," Dockery said.

Founded as Warner Southern College in 1968 by Church of God (Anderson, Ind.) pastors and laity, the institution Hoag will lead became known as Warner University in 2008. It enrolls about 1,100 students from 30 U.S. states and 20 countries. Its undergraduate program includes about 25 liberal arts and professional majors. Three graduate programs for working professionals include studies in business, education and management.

Hoag will assume the Warner presidency on June 1. Carl Johnson, who has served the Trinity constituency for nearly 20 years, will provide interim leadership for the Office of Advancement.
