Girls soccer: St. Charles East blanks Streamwood

St. Charles East 9, Streamwood 0: The Saints marched through the Sabres (7-11, 0-4) behind Megan O'Neal's 4 goals in this Upstate Eight River rout. Scoring 1 goal and 1 assist for East (16-3, 3-1) were Kaitlyn Dziubinski, Morgan Kull and Rose Stackhouse while Claire Rasmussen and Kyla Augustine chipped in 1 goal each. Streamwood's Jasmine Resendiz notched 18 saves in net.

South Elgin 2, Maine West 1: Ella Struwing had a goal and an assist and Missy Greco added a first half goal in a nonconference win for the Storm (9-7-2). Alena Ignatev came up with 1 assist and goalie Jackie DeLaMora registered 10 saves between the pipes.

Cary-Grove 6, Dundee-Crown 0: Sofie Immens and Alex Airhart booted 1 goal and 1 assist each for the Trojans (8-4-1, 3-2) in this FVC Valley win over the Chargers (5-10-1, 1-3). Also scoring for C-G was Meghan Gaffaney, Stephanie Scrima and Natalie Bethers. Keeper Miranda Malone's 5 saves locked in the shutout while Chargers keeper Taylor Gonio collected 3 saves.

Jacobs 5, McHenry 2: The Golden Eagles (7-7, 1-3) used a big second half to break away from the Warriors in FVC Valley action. After McHenry tied it at 1-1 eight minutes into the second half, Jacobs exploded for 4 goals as Cassie Kowalski led the attack with 2 goals. Karissa Gottardo had 1 goal and 1 assist and Hannah Mohan, Caitlin Strong added goals. Caroline Craig, Talia Surges and Cassie Melick contributed with assists.

ACC 2, Chicago Christian 0: Kiley Bruss and Anna Dudziak scored second half goals to give the Chargers (9-13-1) a nonconference win. Megan Crabb notched 1 assist while keeper Bry Mandarino posted 7 saves for the shutout.

Westminster Christian 4, Schaumburg Christian 2: Johannah Siers's 2 goals led the way for the Warriors (5-8-2) in a nonconference win. Keely Frens and Gianna Mackintosh dished out 1 goal and 2 assists. Emily Lamp (7 saves) and Elise VanNoord (2 saves) shared goalkeeping duties.

Kaneland 0, Morris 0: The Knights (13-4-2, 3-2-2) concluded this Northern Illinois Big XII East matchup with Morris in a scoreless tie.

Ridgewood 3, St. Edward 1: The Green Wave (6-13-1) had a 1-0 lead at the half but relinquished during in the final 40 of a Metro Suburban crossover loss. Madalynn Duffy scored for St. Edward while Madison Knott had 1 assist.
