Baseball: Milewski, Lakes top Antioch

Ben Milewski was 3-for-3 with 2 runs scored and an RBI, Tim Ohlwein turned in a complete-game performance, and Lakes' baseball team beat Antioch 6-2 in North Suburban Prairie Division action on Wednesday.

Lakes (10-13, 5-5) also for 2 hits and an RBI from Jack Christensen, while Ryan Selig had a double.

Ohlwein (4-2) gave up 6 hits and 5 walks, and struck out three.

Libertyville 4, Lake Zurich 3: The visiting Wildcats rallied to improve to 15-7 and 5-3 in the North Suburban Lake.

Lake Zurich jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on a two-un homer by Shane Nolan and added a run in the fourth.

Trailing 3-1, Libertyville tied it in the top of the sixth. Brian Murphy led off with a single, and Ryan Greenberg drew a walk. Jack Peterson then hit a game-tying, two-strike double to score 2 runs.

Libertyville scored the winning run in the seventh. Billy Krumm got the win, pitching 3 innings in relief.

Warren 5, Highland Park 4: Ryan Davila and Ricky Lee doubled, and Luke Schmitt tripled, as the Blue Devils pulled out the nonconference game.

Christian Caban was the winning pitcher, as Warren improved to 19-5.

Stevenson 9, Zion-Benton 4: Dylan Molek and Charlie Bourbon had 2 hits apiece, and Justin Kopech pitched 6 shutout innings, as the Patriots captured the North Suburban Lake game.

Vernon Hills 11, Lake Forest Academy 1: Andrew Smith allowed just 1 run and 2 hits in 5 innings, as the Cougars won the nonconference game.

Smith struck out four and walked none. Brad Larsen pitched a scoreless sixth inning.

Larsen (2-for-3, double, 2 runs, 4 RBI) also had a big day at the plate. He had a bases-loaded double in the bottom of the first. Kyle Hull hit a bases-loaded double in the fifth. Connor McNamara, Tony Brown and Matt Paszko also each had a hit.

Christian Dutler and Robbie McGaha both went 1-for-3 with 2 RBI. Kopech allowed 3 hits and 1 walk, and struck out five.

Grayslake Central 2, Woodstock 1: The host Rams won the Fox Valley Fox game, making the most out of 3 hits.

Coby Moe, Sam Ruhlmann and Ben Fitzgerald had hits for Grayslake Central. Brett Whalen struck out three and allowed 1 run over 5 innings in picking up the win. Ryan Casper tossed 2 scoreless innings, striking out three in getting the save.

Grayslake North 6, Woodstock North 3: Charlie Burr (2-for-3) and Alex Carrillo had doubles for the Knights in their Fox Valley Fox win.

Jon Cesario was 1-for-1 with 2 RBI. Tyler Elias picked up the win, allowing 2 runs (1 earned) in 4 innings.

Round Lake 11, North Chicago 2: Gianni Ocana, Tyler Roman, Zack Husk and Spencer Daniels each had 2 hits for the Panthers in the North Suburban Prairie game.

Daniels, Javier Gonzalez and Christian Eng each had a pair of RBI.

Notre Dame 3, Carmel 0: The Corsairs dropped the East Suburban Catholic game, despite 2 hits from Kyle Bucsa.

Liam Evans, Joe Santoro and Griffin Norton also had hits for Carmel.

Nick Stefanowicz earned the win for Notre Dame (13-6, 5-4), throwing 5⅓ with 5 strikeouts and only 1 walk. Tim Simon earned the save, retiring all four hitters he faced, three via strikeout.

Simon (2-for-4, 2 RBI) and Kevin Garcia homered.

Mundelein 3, Lake Forest 2: The visiting Mustangs avenged Tuesday's home loss to the Scouts in North Suburban Lake action.

Wil Michalski notched the win. Nick Stricker was 3-for-4 with a double and 3 RBI for Mundelein (18-7, 5-3).

Lake Forest 8, Mundelein 3: On Tuesday, Villanova-bound lefty Matt Peterson allowed 1 hit in 5 scoreless innings, striking out 12 and walking seven, as the visiting Scouts snapped the Mustangs' nine-game winning streak.
