Rockford girl charged in connection with teen's death
ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) - A 15-year-old Rockford girl has been charged in connection with the death of another teen girl whose charred remains were found outside a northern Illinois mobile home in October.
The Rockford Register Star reported Monday (http://bit.ly/1Y5NmMp ) that the girl is charged with concealment of a homicide and obstruction of justice in the death of 15-year-old Andreayah McBain. The girl isn't being identified because she is a juvenile.
The coroner says McBain had drugs in her system when she died. Investigators say the girl and 28-year-Natheon Hanson of Rockford took McBain's body and burned it.
The newspaper reports that police saw Hanson commit suicide when they initiated a traffic stop in Jerome on Nov. 12.
The girl is held at the Winnebago County jail.
