McHenry man killed in crash with tree Monday

Authorities are investigating the death of a 35-year-old McHenry man who crashed into a tree Monday night in McHenry.

Cainen Riemann was headed east on the 2000 block of Route 120 when his vehicle left the roadway and hit the tree, McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski said in a news release.

McHenry Township Fire and Rescue took Riemann to Centegra McHenry Medical Center and he was pronounced dead at 7:44 p.m.

An autopsy on Tuesday found he died from injuries to his chest and abdomen, Majewski said. Toxicology reports are pending.

His wife, Kaylan Riemann, was airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. Her condition was not available.

The McHenry County Accident Investigation Unit is investigating the crash.
