Southampton eases past distracted Man City 4-2 in EPL

SOUTHAMPTON, England (AP) - Sadio Mane scored a hat trick as Southampton eased past Manchester City 4-2 in the English Premier League on Sunday, when the visitors' minds seemed more on the Champions League.

The Senegal forward struck in the 28th, 57th and 68th minutes at St. Mary's Stadium after Shane Long scored the opener for the Saints. Kelechi Iheanacho grabbed a goal in each half for City.

City dropped a spot to fourth, three points behind Arsenal with two games left, and Southampton moved up to seventh.

City played a weakened team ahead of the second leg of its Champions League semifinal against Real Madrid on Wednesday. It is 0-0 after the first leg.

Manuel Pellegrini's team plays Arsenal next Sunday in a key game in the race for Champions League qualification.
