Clinton vies for blue-collar votes in Indiana campaign stop

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Hillary Clinton is making a pitch to Indiana's blue-collar workers, blaming Republicans for trickle-down economic policies "on steroids" that she says have harmed the middle class.

The Democratic presidential candidate made the remarks Sunday during her first public rally this campaign season in Indiana, a leading manufacturing state.

Clinton has faced criticism for supporting the North American Free Trade Agreement, which was approved when husband Bill Clinton was president. Many credit the agreement with manufacturing jobs leaving the U.S. for Mexico.

Clinton focused on GOP-backed right-to-work laws which she says are an "assault" on the American labor movement that helped build the middle class.

The state's primary election is Tuesday. Clinton is vying for the Democratic nomination against Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont.
