Who's coordinating construction closings?

Oakton and Elmhurst Road intersection has been "under construction" forever. Now another new lane configuration has added a new nightmare to our commutes.

The intersection of Oakton, Busse and Higgins is already a nightmare due to tollway widening and now more insanity is added to the mix.

As you sit forever in traffic, you can't help but notice that no one is working in the closed lanes. They are just closed off on the possibilities that maybe someday work will be done.

And if you survive Oakton and Elmhurst, you arrive at Oakton/River road construction which has been a huge pit for months - working at a snail's pace. Rip it all up and take forever completing it. And just to drive us all crazy, Algonquin is starting construction week of May 2/ Is anyone coordinating this? Do we really have to put up with delays and finding alternate routes?

Yes, they are widening the expressway - not that it needed widening - and we are living with traffic jams under every viaduct in the area because no one thought about local traffic. Whatever the mighty gods of road construction want, they get.

Where is the oversight? Do state and local companies actually talk to each other before they tear up every single route in the area?
