Metea Valley 3, Lake Park 1:
The five-inning, rain-shortened DuPage Valley Conference game went to the Mustangs (11-11, 6-9). Blake Honda and Jack Feeley each went 2-for-2 in support of winning pitcher Matt Vass. Colin Fowich had a hit and drove in a run for Lake Park (13-5, 8-4), which is now two games behind DVC-leading Naperville Central in the loss column.
Waubonsie Valley 4, WW South 3:
Nick Price doubled in the tying and go-ahead runs in the bottom of the fifth inning for the Warriors (14-7, 9-6), which is where the rain-shortened DuPage Valley Conference game ended. It was only the second hit allowed by WW South pitcher Grant Negris. Will Isdell was the winning pitcher in relief of Quinton Zielke. Jeran Simpson had 2 hits for the Tigers (5-13, 3-12).
Wheaton North 4, Glenbard North 2:
The Falcons (11-8, 7-5) trailed 2-0 in the DuPage Valley Conference matchup until they scored all their runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Casey Becker was the complete-game winner, striking out six and walking none while allowing 4 hits and no earned runs. Ryan Kocher went 2-for-3. Zach Heck drove in 2 runs and Nick Frawley had 2 hits for Glenbard North (5-17, 2-11).
Glenbard West 13, Proviso West 1:
The Hilltoppers (9-10, 4-4) won the West Suburban Silver game in five innings after scoring 12 runs in the first inning. Kevin Spencer, who went 3-for-3, Matt Shoub and D.J. Ficarella drove in 2 runs. Zach Lutz was the winning pitcher.
Hinsdale South 7, Leyden 2:
Frank Basic was the complete-game winning pitcher for the Hornets (21-3, 13-0), who wrapped up the West Suburban Gold championship.
