Parents must take charge to keep family safe

Responsible adults are charged with providing safety and security in our families.

Heroin, gangs, guns and terrorism are our greatest threats. Introduction, affiliation and radicalization commonly occur in young people. People dependent on wage-earning adults for all of their provisions, care and guidance. Parents are responsible for the entire family.

Daily influences (positive and negative) bombard inexperienced, impressionable and innocent youth. Privacy, rights and personal space should be granted to all. Possession, by any family member, of any item that threatens to create an unsafe home environment violates the privacy rights and personal space of everyone else.

Individuals, totally dependent on others (minors or adult children residing in the home), own no physical items; items are purchased by the homeowners.

Responsible adults monitor the condition of their possessions, home and those living in the home. Assuring everyone in the family (from birth) that openness is always in operation.

The parents will see everything in the entire house. As the provider, when putting away laundry, cleaning, hanging things in the closet, "I will examine all that I own"as I do the exterior of the house. I will look at everything! this routine check up will keep everyone safe."

Do not bring threatening things into our family is the message. If you do, it is my responsibility to take measures to protect you and the family. Guns, drugs or questionable occurrences will be discovered.

Americans are smart! Want the authorities (government and police) to "fix" this? Rather than grieving a loss, being surprised by a drug overdose or amazement that a family member is a bully and a terrorist, we should assume control of our space.

It is 2016 not 1972. Go through dressers, the garage, the basement and yes, the electronics you purchased. I'm just sayin'
