Authorities: Body found in Indiana identified as Texas man

GARY, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say a body found in northwestern Indiana has been identified as a Texas man who had been missing since January.

The Lake County coroner's office said in a news release that the body found Wednesday in Gary has been identified as Carlos Verduzco of Laredo. The release says Verduzco, who had been missing since Jan. 31, had gunshot wounds and that his death was ruled a homicide.

Verduzco's nephew, 26-year-old Fernando Verduczo, was found stabbed to death in a car in Gary earlier this year.

Gary police Lt. Dawn Westerfield says there have been no arrests in the case.
