Islamic group seeks Elk Grove office location
An Islamic organization is seeking approval to hold meetings and prayers within an existing office building complex in Elk Grove Village, officials say.
Ali Yun Wali Allah Islamic Center has applied for a special use permit to operate a religious institution at 1550 Higgins Road, located on the northern end of Elk Grove's business park. The request will go to the village's plan commission, which will forward a recommendation to the village board.
In September 2014, the board approved a permit for Centi Illinois, a Christian organization that began in Colombia, to host weekend church services and weeknight Bible study classes within the same Higgins Road office building.
