Lake Park students, faculty take turns with 'Grease'

"Grease" will be the closing word as Lake Park High School ends its 2015-16 theater season.

Focused on Rydell High's senior Class of 1959, the classic show evokes the look and sound of the 1950s.

Student shows opened Thursday night and continue with performances at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, April 30, and 6 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at the East Campus Dice Auditorium, 600 S. Medinah Road, Roselle.

Faculty/staff performances are at 7 p.m. Friday, April 29, and 1 p.m. Sunday, May 1.

The show features songs such as "Summer Nights," "Greased Lightnin'," "Hopelessly Devoted to You" and "You're the One That I Want."

The student cast features Giuliano Catalano, Grace Tolentino, Angela Krokos, Jimmy Romano and Gina Robertelli.

The faculty cast features Dan Lobraco, Kate Dowling, Kim Bella-Lobraco, Stephen Cimino and Olivia Mikes.

"In the history of Lake Park, we have never produced 'Grease,' " director Eric Uppling said. "It is one of my favorite musicals. Also, we have not had a faculty performance in over 10 years."

Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students, and free for senior citizens, Lake Park students (with ID) and children younger than 13.

Tickets can be purchased at the door. For details, contact lptheatreboxoffice@lphs.org.
