Central Indiana school principal charged with not reporting

FORTVILLE, Ind. (AP) - A prosecutor has charged a central Indiana school principal with misdemeanor failure to report for waiting 17 days to report rumors an employee sent naked photos of herself to students.

Hancock Superior Court documents filed Wednesday say Scott Shipley of Mount Vernon Middle School in Fortville became aware of rumors regarding teacher's aide and substitute teacher Kisha Nuckols on March 12 at the start of a two-week spring break but told police he didn't feel any children were in imminent danger. After returning to the state, he told another school administrator who called police.

Shipley's home telephone line was temporarily unavailable Wednesday and he could not be reached for comment.

Nuckols faces three counts of child seduction and one count of disseminating material harmful to minors.
