Route 59 lane closures along Naperville-Aurora border

Isolated lane closures are expected to begin this week on Route 59 along the Naperville/Aurora border for crews to complete the remaining work related to the expansion project that built a new diverging diamond interchange at I-88 and widened the road to three lanes in each direction.

Multiday lane closures between Ferry Road and Aurora Avenue may be needed to repair sections of pavement. Daily lane closures are expected to complete sidewalk installation and landscaping.

The work will be the finishing touches on a $90 million project to improve the three-mile stretch of the road to ease congestion.
