Overdose reversal drug saves two

Lake Zurich police say they saved the seventh life since 2015 through use of a drug that reverses opioid overdoses. On Monday, April 25, Lake Zurich police and firefighters responded to a call in the 800 block of Windemere Lane of a 23-year-old man who showing signs of an overdose and was not breathing. Paramedics treated him before he was taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Lake Barrington. While still on scene investigating, police found a 22-year-old woman apparently overdosing. The officers administered two doses of Naloxone to her and performed CPR before she was taken to Good Shepherd. "I am very proud that our police officers and paramedics acted quickly and were able to save these lives," Lake Zurich Police Chief Steven Husak said.
