Nick Villasenor fired a 1-hitter with 6 strikeouts for the Blazers (8-9, 4-5) in their West Suburban Gold win. Ricky Perez, who drove in 2 runs, Simon Marinelli and Cosme Garcia each had 2 hits. Downers South fell to 11-7 overall and 6-4 in the Gold.
St. Francis 9, Marmion 3:
The Spartans (18-1, 9-1) won for the 11th straight time overall and for the ninth straight time in the Chicago Catholic League. A 5-run second inning and 4-run third pushed St. Francis to a 9-0 lead, which was plenty of support for winning pitcher J.P. Clifford, who went 6 innings. Tim Lilly, Mike Beach and Zach Crescenzo each drove in 2 runs.
Lisle 20, Plano 5:
Christian Grego went 4-for-5 with a home run and 3 RBI as the Lions (13-8, 5-3) rolled in the five-inning Interstate Eight road game. Winning pitcher David White and Alec Van Volkenburg combined for 5 hits and 6 RBI.
Westmont 5, Seneca 2:
The Sentinels (10-9, 2-6) won in the Interstate Eight behind Joe Donovan, who went 3-for-4 with a double, homer, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Jackson Fischer was the complete-game winning pitcher.
Hinsdale South 4, Willowbrook 3:
The Hornets (20-2, 12-0) swept in the West Suburban Gold when John Stoltz singled in Danny Schimmel with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Cam Zunkel had 2 RBI while Kyle Ferguson and M.J. Ranieri each had 2 hits for Willowbrook (7-11, 4-5).
