Drug take-back day April 30 in Vernon Hills

Vernon Hills police in conjunction with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration will host a drug take-back day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at the department headquarters, 740 Lakeview Parkway. The service is free and anonymous. Besides being susceptible to diversion, misuse, flushing unwanted medications or throwing them in the trash pose potential safety and health hazards. Also on Saturday, the Stand Strong Coalition from Stevenson High School is scheduled to distribute free prescription drug lockboxes to the first 20 participants.
