Girls soccer: Geneva outlasts Neuqua Valley

Geneva 1, Neuqua Valley 0 (PKs): At the Naperville Invite, the Vikings (9-1-1) settled a scoreless tie with a win after 8 rounds of PKs for their fourth-straight win. Briar Schwardt, Emily Hauser, Kyleigh Dominugez and Jenna Dominguez all converted their PKs while keeper Emma Harkleroad preserved the win with 8 total saves, including 3 in the shootout.

Streamwood 5, Westminster Christian 1: At St. Edward's Green Wave Invite, the Sabres (4-8) ended a 5-game skid as Karina Nevarez notched 2 goals and 2 assists in 60 minutes of action. Shonali Pierce, Michaela Gundersen and Melanie Ramirez added goals while Stephanie Corona and Paulette Carranza each had assists. Yasmine Resendiz tallied 3 saves in goal.

South Elgin 2, Wheaton Academy 2: Down a goal at the half, the Storm (5-7-1) surged to a 2-1 lead on goals by Kristen Schill and Gabby Danesi before the Warriors forced a tie at the Wheaton Invitational. Corinne Hildebrandt added 1 assist and keeper Jackie DeLaMora collected 9 saves in net.

Larkin 1, Stillman Valley 0: Sam Moreno notched the only score for the Royals (4-7) in this Freeport Pretzel Cup win. Stephanie Nunez had the assist and Haley Caseebeer posted a shutout.

Lake Zurich 1, Elgin 0: Although keeper Hannah Erickson posted 9 saves, the Maroons (4-8) couldn't tally a goal against the Bears in this Prospect Invite loss.
